In 2008 Wendy completed her first book, an entertaining account of her film-making exploits and romantic 'misadventures' traveling solo around the world. Earlier this year, she also finished writing her second feature film drama, a gripping true story of a little known Australian heroine who risked her life to fight for freedom under a brutal dictator's regime. She is now completing two new feature drama scripts and the beginnings of a follow up book, then plans to polish and release these manuscripts to publishers and producers later this year. 'Bibliographical Cuttings' on Wendy Dent's work as an actress, writer and filmmaker are also now available in the National Library of Australia collection.
Wendy Dent recently gave two special guest lectures at Sydney's Macquarie University, speaking on politics and human rights in Zimbabwe, and the filming of No News From Harare (her cutting edge documentary of the Mugabe regime), to students studying African Politics (Macquarie University Department of International Politics) and Human Rights Law (Macquarie University School of Law).
A transcript of her gripping account of filming undercover in Zimbabwe will be available soon. No News From Harare has also now been acquired by the Macquarie University Library, and is on catalogue in the National Library of Australia.
