CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINMENT

From 1990-1996 Wendy Dent was well known to family audiences in both Melbourne and Canberra, where she entertained well over 10,000 people solo over six years from the age of 15.

Her extensive children's theatre work included contracted character appearances and original story productions for:

* the National Gallery of Australia (children's holiday workshops, and solo storytelling performances based on mythological paintings in featured exhibitions, enacted in front of artworks in the NGA)

* the inaugaural launch of The National Museum of Australia

* the Melbourne Moomba Festival (as Stardust the Fairy)

* the City of Melbourne (as Stardust the Fairy), including appearances with Humphrey B.Bear, and for Carols By Candlelight events

* Garden Week 95 (as Stardust the Fairy), featured on Burke's Backyard

* Myer Bourke St store; Christmas season entertainment (as Stardust the Fairy)

as well as contracts for The Melbourne Boat Show, Melbourne's The Clown Company, The Fairy Forest (as Stardust The Fairy) and more.

In 1993 and 1994 Wendy Dent also produced and performed solo storytelling shows "Fairy Tales by The Fairy Tree" as Stardust the Fairy in Melbourne's famous Fitzroy Gardens.

Wendy Dent's appearances as Stardust the Fairy attracted hundreds of families to the gardens each summer holiday season, and established the event as an annual Fitzroy Gardens tradition that still continues to this day!

Wendy Dent's productions were continued by The Melbourne City Council after she moved to Sydney to begin studying film and video in 1996.
