A charming profile of Philip Yin, a popular Sydney chef and drag queen, and his drag cabaret cafe. In 'The Rainbow Within' Philip discusses his love of diamonds, singing and dressing up, and how he was raised as a girl in his family, where expressing the feminine side was encouraged and acceptable. He chats about how his cafe is like part of his home, with his customers welcomed into his dining room. In his unassuming and charming way, Philip captures the camera with his luminous grin. And in his quiet way he simply answers that unspoken question that so many heterosexuals wonder about drag shows; "why do they do it?"
